Walmart has issued a nationwide recall for nearly 14,000 Hyper Tough® 2-Ton Candles due to a safety risk. The defect can cause the jack to suddenly fall and collapse under a raised vehicle, which could crush or kill a person working under or near the vehicle. The candles were sold at Walmart stores nationwide until they were pulled from shelves on July 13, 2020. Walmart Issues Recall On Faulty Jack Stands

Nearly 14,000 Hyper Tough 2 ton jack stands have been recalled because they pose a significant safety risk. The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently issued an alert referencing a Walmart report that the candles in question failed safety tests conducted by an objective third-party lab. The identified defect could cause the jack to fall and collapse without warning while under an elevated vehicle, which could then cause death or crush injury to anyone working under the vehicle.
