PREPARATION / ACCLIMATION

Opened cartons should be on site for 48-72 hours prior to cork tile installation. During storage and installation of cork wall tiles, maintain temperature and relative humidity at a level consistent with the conditions that will prevail when the building is occupied. Substrate must be clean, dry, smooth, free of moisture and dust before installing wall tiles. LAYING WALL TILES

For best cork wall tile installation results, lay the tiles with staggered joints (brick pattern). Using a hand roller, apply pressure to the cork in all directions to set the tiles. If you are not using the tiles as a poster board, you can also use a clear, water-based polyurethane such as "Verathane" also available at most hardware stores including Home Depot and Lowe's. Cork wall tiles, like any other wood or cork flooring, will fade if exposed to direct sunlight for long periods of time.
