No matter which type of parquet you choose - whether strip parquet, mosaic parquet, multi-layer parquet or solid parquet: whether you work with STAUF bonding technology , you can be sure that the subfloor and the parquet are securely and permanently bonded together.

The word "parquet" has its origins in French, and the first recorded parquet floor was installed in France in the 17th century. Parquet floors were later installed in palaces across Europe, and they are still known for their ability to bring a distinguished, old-world charm to any space. Parquet floors were particularly popular in American households in the 60s and 70s, and they remain a more attractive alternative to strip floors and ceramic tiles. If your customers want to install parquet, don't worry: it's really not much different than installing glued plank flooring. You may want to install a vapor barrier subfloor to prevent additional moisture from seeping into the floor, especially if you are installing over concrete. If you are gluing over a concrete subfloor, take special care to check the moisture content of the slab. When gluing the flooring, it is important to work in small sections so that the adhesive does not dry out before setting the tiles in place. Continue working in small sections until you are finished gluing the floor and allow the adhesive to dry before continuing. How to sand parquet

Sanding a patterned floor like parquet is a little different from sanding a regular floor, but that's no reason to lose sleep. It's a good idea — but not necessary — to use an orbital sander like the American Sanders OBS-18 or a planetary sander like the Lagler Trio because you'll be going against the grain of the wood, and these machines will reduce the appearance of transverse scratches. If you're only considering one parquet installation at the moment and don't expect to do too much in the future, consider renting an orbital sander for the job. Here is the process for sanding parquet the right way:

Make your first pass with the big machine using a 40 grit strip, moving diagonally across the grit at a 45 degree angle. For an exceptionally flat floor, especially on a poorly oriented laying like parquet, the use of the planetary sander like the Lagler Trio after the belt machine is ideal. If the parquet is made up of different species, it is not advisable to stain the floor because different species accept the stain to varying degrees. Parquet looks daunting from an installer's perspective due to all the misdirection and patterning, but it really isn't too difficult.

Clicking Vs. Gluing – Which Method Is Better?

Snap-together systems have many advantages First of all, the snap-together mechanism eliminates the need for glue and adhesives, making for a clean installation. Because the technique is relatively simple, DIY enthusiasts don't depend on professionals to do the job, but can easily lay their flooring themselves. In addition, thanks to their greater thickness, floors such as click laminate tolerate the irregularities of the subfloor better than adhesive laminate floors, for example.

Adhesive For Parquet Flooring

Cold bituminous adhesives, which followed, were also used for parquet floors until recently, and many floors are still in use today, installed in this way.
